Retirement Announcement: Fred Webb

August, 2021

He has experienced cockroaches raining down on him inside buildings.  He was chased (and stung) by wasps and bees.  And, he has come face-to-face with rats while crawling in tight spaces. You really have to be a “bug guy” to find all these things interesting and exciting but, to Fred Webb, that’s what made his job unique and fulfilling.

You have eight months to hear more sci-fi sounding experiences from Fred.  After nearly 40 years in the industry, this industry giant is set to retire next March.

Fred’s career started with Whitmire Research Laboratories in 1983. Whitmire was eventually purchased by BASF. He has managed the Terminix account for more than 20 years and the Veseris partnership for more than 10 years.  A lot has changed over the years, but one thing hasn’t: putting the customer first.

“What I will miss most are the people,” says Fred. “It is the people, both as customers and internally, who make each day interesting and challenging. The relationships I have built over the years in this industry will be a treasure I will carry with me into retirement. Hopefully, many of those connections will continue long after the day to day interactions of work are gone.”

So, what does retirement look like for Fred? He’ll spend more time with his wife of 40 years, Astrid, and their grandkids. He also expects to travel and pursue hobbies like art, music, hiking. At some point maybe he might relax!

We’ll have plenty of time to plan a nice send off!  In the meantime, feel free to drop him a line.
