BASF Receives Registration for Fendona® Pest Control Products in California

April 14, 2021

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. April 14, 2021 – BASF announced it has received California registration for Fendona® CS Controlled Release Insecticide and PT® Fendona® Pressurized Insecticide.

Fendona CS, with the active ingredient (A.I.) alpha-cypermethrin and unique encapsulation technology, is labeled for a broad range of surfaces and use sites, including lawn and ornamental uses. The micro-mesh encapsulation preserves the highly active A.I. long after the treatment. In addition, lipophilic properties allow the microcapsules to easily stick to the insect’s exoskeleton where the A.I. is released to penetrate the insect’s body.

PT Fendona Pressurized Insecticide uses the same powerful A.I. in aerosol form for hard-to-reach locations and can also be used in food-handling areas. PT Fendona is compatible with the BASF System III® Applicator for the ultimate precision treatment.

Both Fendona CS and PT Fendona are labeled for more than 60 arthropod pests, including spiders, mosquitoes, house flies, bed bugs and scorpions.

“Both Fendona products offer two great treatment options for pest management professionals looking to increase the effectiveness of their bi-monthly and quarterly treatment protocols,” said Dave Poling, Director – U.S. Marketing, Professional & Specialty Solutions, BASF. “With the CS formulation for broad-spectrum coverage and the PT-treatment option, Fendona is a premier solution – and can be a real game-changer.”
